Central Peninsula Hospital and the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District will detail a school-to-work program for students with disabilities at an open house, tonight, September 29.
Project SEARCH High School Transition Program is in it’s third year and invites community members to meet with students who have been enrolled in the project, talk with teachers, and job coaches.
There will also be a presentation from Project SEARCH’s director of public policy Patrick Reinhart.
This program is a workplace immersion aimed at mingling a seamless combination of classroom instruction, career exploration, and relevant job-skills training through internships for students with disabilities.
That open house will be held at Central Peninsula Hospital in the Denali Room from 5 – 6 pm this evening.
