Four days remain for Alaskan voters to register to vote in the November 4 general election.

Division of Elections Executive Director Gail Fenumiai detailed how to register or change registration information.

Fenumiai: “They can register by getting a form off of our website, downloading it, printing it off, signing it, and submitting it to the division by fax, as an attachment to an email, mailing it in. They can register at DMV, they can register getting forms from many libraries and city clerks offices have forms as well or they can go into any division of elections office and register in person.”

She laid out what topics voters will be deciding in that election.

Fenumiai: “Voters will have an opportunity to cast a vote for United States Senator, United States Representative, Governor and Lieutenant Governor, State House and State Senate, as well as three ballot measures. And there will be judicial candidates that are also up for retention.”

Those three ballot initiatives are regulating and taxing marijuana, increasing Alaska’s minimum wage, and an act aimed at protecting Bristol Bay fisheries.

Statewide voter turnout was at 31.72% while voter turnout in our three major districts hovered around 33%.
