Homer Electric Association is  holding member meetings across the Kenai Peninsula.

Joe Gallagher with HEA said last night’s Anchor Point meeting saw a crowd of about 70 people.

Gallagher:” We had a presentation from our general manager and some questions about mostly how our new generation plants are working. As our members know we now have generation plants in Nikiski and we have one at Burneice Lake as well as a new plant at Soldotna. So most of the questions were centered around the plants, how they were operating, were they working well and we were happy to report that yes they were and that we are well into our new generation plan and things seem to be going well.”

Meetings will continues throughout the Peninsula over the next week.

Gallagher: “So what we try to do every fall is go to the outlying communities and give the folks a chance to meet HEA staff and also to provide an update to what HEA has going on as far as projects, its really just about communication, just another member of communication face to face with our members.”

Tonight HEA will host a meeting and barbecue at the Ninilchik fairgrounds beginning at 5:30 pm.
