In preparing for winter, the City of Soldotna is flushing water mains until October 15 from 7:30am to 4:30pm each day.
City Engineer Kyle Kornelis explained…
Kornelis: “Our utility department is doing their pre-winter activities. They’re flushing lines and getting hydrants prepared for winter to make sure that we have adequate fire protection though the winter, and not have any freezing problems with our mains and different piping systems.”
Due to that maintenance, residents may experience low water pressure or water discoloration.
If you do see some discoloration of city water, let the cold water run until the color clears.
