Swim Teams Start Taper Following Palmer Invitational

High school swimmers met at Palmer High for the final invitational of the fall, the Palmer Invitational.  The Kodiak Bears won both the girls and boys team titles, followed by SoHi.

In the girls competition, Kodiak outscored SoHi 88- 67.  SoHi’s Alex Weeks won two individual events, the 200-yard freestyle in 1 minute, 57.83 seconds, and the 100 freestyle in 53.15.  Megan English from SoHi won the 100 backstroke in 1:04.19. The Stars also won the 200 medley relay.

In the boys competition, Kodiak amassed 123 points; SoHi was second with 64.  SoHi’s David Hall won the 50 freestyle in 22.42 seconds.

 

Swimmers will taper-off this weekend in preparation for the Region III Swimming and Diving Championships scheduled for Soldotna High School on October 31st and November 1st.
