The Walgreens construction has significantly changed the Soldotna Y’s appearance and there’s more to come.

G&S Construction has been working the project and President Dan Green said despite some minor setbacks, they are on schedule.

Green: “Our responsibility is to turn this building over by July 1st, and I don’t really have any idea what Walgreens’ plan is or when exactly they move in or how all that part works.”

He said the water, sewer, and storm drain portions of the project were challenging but they are set to finish the work on the three new streets there next spring.

Green: “We paved two of the streets that were involved with the project the last one is Mullen Drive which ties into the Sterling HWY intersection there. That intersection from the Mullen Drive side will have some pretty significant redo there will be some traffic signal changes and pole locations and things like that. So that’s going to be one of our major challenges left ahead of us is to get that intersection done.”

When KSRM contacted the Aventine Development Corporation, they stated they do not discuss ongoing projects.
