According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention children are four times more likely to be involved in a fatal vehicle pedestrian accident during Halloween than any other night of the year.

Carver: “As far as just overall safety goes we just like for people driving their kids around, especially on the colder nights to really watch out for kids because they are darting in and out of traffic and that sort of thing so we’re just trying to encourage people to be extra careful out there.”
Other safety tips for parents and children out trick-or-treating is carrying flashlights or affixing reflective measures onto outerwear and costumes.
