Tomorrow, November 22, the Second Annual Emma’s Run will be held at the Kenai Chamber and Visitors Center.

Chamber Executive Director Johna Beech detailed what made a local 11 year-old girl named Emma organize the run last year.

Beech: “She had donated to the Q, St. Jude’s telethon thing, and then she started receiving these fliers in the mail and one was for this national run for St. Jude Day and she was so excited to sign up last year, only to find out that they didn’t have a run in Alaska. So she pulled this thing together in two weeks and I think she made $1,300 for St. Jude. This year her goal is $2,000 so it’s going to be a good good day.”

That run is a 5k and registration starts at 11 am at the Visitors Center. The race begins at 12 noon.

A $10 donation is required to participate and all proceeds go to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
