Marijuana is an extremely popular topic right now and chamber luncheons are on board. Today Kenai attorney Scott Bloom presented facts he’s gathered about the upcoming marijuana laws.
He said one area undefined in initiative is a legal limit for driving.
Bloom: “Last night I believe it was Eric Derleth that said that habitual or regular user of marijuana will exceed the limit that’s been established in other states. I don’t know how police will test or what that level will be, whether it will just be a sobriety test to determine whether ones under the influence or is there’s going to be a hard line like alcohol, you know .08”
He said that he’s spoken with Kenai Police a little bit about the subject but for the most part they are waiting for direction from the State of Alaska and the City of Kenai on how to cope with that.
This was also addressed at the town hall meeting on law and marijuana last night, presenting a common theme of the upcoming ballot two implementation.
