The Alaska Department of Fish and Game postponed meetings to nominate commissioner candidates due to a low number of applicants meeting the December 22 deadline.
Glenn Haight with the department said that it made more sense to just have one meeting instead of the two that were scheduled for today in Anchorage and in Juneau.
Haight: “And so each of the boards have provided committee members, three of them, and they will be meeting to review the candidates they’ve received.”
Local drifter Roland Maw met the December 22 deadline and is among the list to be considered.
The new meeting date has not yet been announced.
