Any peninsula residents driving to Anchorage should keep a high wind warning for the Turnagain Arm in mind when traveling.

Southeast winds are expected from 30 to 55 miles per hour with gusts from 65 to 75 miles per hour.

This warning means loose objects may become projectiles and driving along the turnagain arm will be hazardous.

That wind warning is in effect until 1 pm this afternoon when winds will peak sometime around then.

The cities included in the warning are Anchorage, Indian, Eagle River and Turnagain Arm with higher elevations.
