The Kenai Peninsula School Board discussed the Fiscal Year 2016-2021 at the February 2 meeting however postponed its approval.
Board President Joe Arness said the board discussed the plan which organizes major maintenance and capital
improvement projects for that time period.
Arness: “There was some concerns about how it was structured and where it comes from specifically from Mr. (Dan) Castimore, he had questions about how that document is developed and how things go about getting put on it so he asked to have some more time to gather up some more information because last night was the first time we discussed it so he requested it be postponed and the board approved that.”
The project priorities listed in the FY 2016 plan are the new construction of Kachemak Selo School, Kenai Middle School asbestos removal and office remodel, the Homer High School re-roof, and the Chapman Elementary window and siding replacement.
That plan will be brought before the school board again at their next meeting on March 2.
