Last week Representative Don Young did not vote on Congress’ Healthcare Overhaul Repeal or Small Business Regulatory Revisions but he wasn’t slacking off…
Shuckerow: “Congressman Young was unfortunately out sick, he had contracted the flu and running a high fever and was advised by his doctor to remain home until his fever no longer resided and that was because he was considered contagious.”
That was Young’s press officer Matt Shuckerow who said just like thousands of Americans he had received the flu shot but took precautions based on doctor’s orders.
As we previously reported, this flu season has been particularly bad across America and even the Kenai Peninsula saw high early numbers.
That was caused by a mutated strain of the flu, and patients saw more severe symptoms.
Luckily though, Shuckerow said Young is back this week.
Shuckerow: “He’s in good health and in good spirits and he’s happy to be back here in congress and we’re going to be voting on Keystone Pipeline legislation and sending that to the President’s desk where hopefully he will sign it after about six years of waiting and next week there’s a congressional recess and Congressman Young will be headed back to the state and meeting with a number of Alaskans throughout the state.”
