Mitch Seavey was once the mushing grandson, but lately he’s become better known as the man who showed three-time champion Dallas the ropes.
Seavey Sr. claimed second in this year’s Iditarod, finishing at 8:22am, more than four hours after Dallas at 4:13am.
Mitch has two Iditiarod victories to his name, in 2004 and 2013. His younger sons predicted a wide grin this morning, expecting Mitch to be even more proud than Dallas that the pair took the top two positions under the burled arch in Nome.
