Today marked the 21st annual job shadow day and KSRM hosted Kenai Central High School junior Destiny Schmidt.

She spoke with us about why she wanted to job shadow at the radio station…

Schmidt: “I just think it’s really a good career because well I love music and I love getting to work with music and you get to do that and I love to talk too, you get to talk all day so that’s awesome.”

After four hours at the station experiencing bits of the sales, news, and production departments she stated…

Schmidt: “This is something I would consider doing, like I really actually do want to do it.”

Schmidt was one of 110 students who were participating in careers from healthcare to the oil field across the peninsula today.
