Governor Bill Walker has completed this round of appointments to the Alaska Board of Fish…

Senate: “Messages from the Governor? A letter dated March 27 stating, ‘in accordance with Article 3 Sec. 26 of the Alaska Constitution and AS 16.05.221, I submit the following for confirmation: Board of Fisheries, Orville Huntington, Huslia. Okay, that appointment will be referred to State Affairs and Resource Committees.”

Huntington was reappointed to another three-year term, which would begin July 1, if confirmed by the Legislature.

Huntington was first appointed to the board by former Gov. Sean Parnell in 2012. He currently works for Tanana Chiefs Conference, and is generally considered the subsistence representative for the board.

Soldotna resident Robert Ruffner was also appointed to the Board earlier this month and is yet to face Legislative confirmation.
