The Senate Finance Committee’s draft version of the capital budget has been revealed.
If passed, the stripped-down rewrite would be one of Alaska’s smallest capital budgets in over a decade.
The bill proposes the total capital budget for fiscal year 2016 at around $1.46 billion.
That is less than Alaska’s 2004 budget which was $1.53 billion but just over 2001 at $1.3 billion.
