Much of the power affected by the partial outage in Kenai at 4 pm has been restored.

Joe Gallagher with Homer Electric Association…

Gallagher: “As of 5:30 pm, power has been restored to all but 18 of the HEA members. We still have a few members located on North Willow Street past the airport, which includes the FAA building and the animal shelter. Those folks still remain without power as of 5:30 but we hope to have that back on shortly.”

5:15 PM Update:

Around 118 residents of Kenai began experiencing a partial power outage at 4 pm this afternoon.

Joe Gallagher with Homer Electric Association said it affected members in the Willow Street, Trading Bay and Airport Way areas.

Gallagher: “HEA members in the area affected had partial power, parts of the building might have power and other parts wouldn’t due to a single phase going bad.”

HEA crews are on scene and Gallagher said they expect to have full power restored within the next few hours.

There has still been no cause determined for why the power was interrupted.
