The City of Soldotna is closing the Corral and Binkley Street intersection today as part of the final phase of the Binkley Street Renovation Project.
Project Manager Lee Frey said the intersection was closed at 8:30am today…
Frey: “You can go online, the City Facebook page or the City website shows the detour maps, I believe KSRM posted the detour map as well. We’re trying to keep people int he city using Fireweed primarily as the detour from Marydale and Park.”
The stoplight at the intersection will be taken down during the closure, which has been scheduled to run through May.
Frey: “We’re putting in a new sewer lift station at that intersection, the existing one there is pretty max capacity so we’re putting a bigger one in there with bigger pumps to be able o handle everything a little better and then we’ll be reconstructing that intersection and putting everything back together when we’re done.”
The Binkley Street Project began last spring and installed three mini roundabouts in 2014.
