Ostrander Signs On With Broncos

Allie Ostrander, one of the nation’s top high school distance runners, signed a letter of intent to attend Boise State University in Boise , Idaho on Wednesday morning at Kenai Central High School.

The much-anticipated announcement and signing commits Ostrander to the Bronco’s, where she will receive a combined academic and athletic full scholarship with plans to run in the fall, cross country season for the Boise State.

At the Big C Relays last weekend in the Anchorage Dome,  Ostrander ran the fastest recorded high school girls 3200M in the nation for 2015, clocking a 9:59.33.  Ostrander is also the reigning state champion in cross country running and state champion in the 1600M and 3200M in Alaska track and field.

 

Jonah Theisen, also a KCHS senior distance runner, signed his letter of intent to Division II, Black Hills State in South Dakota.  Earlier this year, SoHi’s Dani McCormick signed with the University of Alaska, Anchorage.
