Alaska’s Senior Senator has roughly $1.5 million on hand for her re-election campaign next year.
According to a report filed with the Federal Election Commission, Senator Lisa Murkowski raised close to $690,000 during the first quarter of this year.
Murkowski’s 2010 campaign was fraught with tension as she lost the primary to then-tea party favorite Joe Miller. With controversy brewing over Miller’s heavy handed response to journalists, Murkowski launched a successful write-in campaign which secured her seat for another six years.
Miller unsuccessfully ran again last year, losing the primary nomination to now-Senator Dan Sullivan.
