The Kenai Watershed Forum’s administration is transitioning due to two staff members leaving.
Jocelyn O’Connor recently accepted the role of Community Engagement Manager for the Alaska LNG Project’s socioeconomic team and Executive Director Robert Ruffner announced his plans to retire this winter.
He added that he is still fully committed to helping the board through this transition period.
Ruffner: “It definitely is a little bit of a transitional period but the board has really stepped up, they’ve gone and got some training on how to handle transitions, we are fortunate that it’s not a transition where both of the executive people are leaving entirely and then the organization has to figure it out all on their own. The institutional knowledge that I have from founding it is still going to be there and then like I said I’ll help the new person until they’re ready for me not to help them.”
Ruffner said the Board of Directors is likely in the process of vetting the applications they have received for the Executive Director position and are hoping to choose a replacement by June.
