The Soldotna Stars soccer teams recorded a pair of victories over the Kenai Kardinals in Northern Lights Conference soccer action on Monday at Soldotna High School.
SoHi Girls 5 – Kenai 0
The SoHi girls notched a 5-0 shutout of the Kardinals on the strength of four, second-half goals. SoHi opened the scoring with a single, first half goal by Miranda Wolf. Wolf added a goal in the second half; Taylor WIlson recorded two goals and Emmalee Johnson added a single goal. Maddie Kindred recorded the shutout in goal for the Stars.
SoHi Boys 2 – Kenai 1
The Sohi boys netted the game-winning goal over the Kardinals in stoppage time for a 2-1 Northern Lights Conference victory for the SoHi boys. Dylan Ackerman netted the game-winner; Ty Fenton scored SoHi’s first goal early in the second half for a 1-0 SoHi lead. Kenai’s Zack Tuttle scored for the Kardinals.
Kenai will play Homer in Homer on Tuesday.
