Governor Bill Walker’s administration is calling on Alaska’s public input on the right size government and future fiscal options.

Walker and Lt. Governor Byron Mallott will start conversations on how to create a sustainable future June 5-7 at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, although the public can participate online.

Governor Walker said. “Our fiscal forecast demands long-term focus and attention. I am confident that this event, coupled with the statewide conversations over the summer months, will bring the best ideas forward.”

The event in Fairbanks is scheduled to feature a series of presentations and discussions on the state’s current fiscal status, what Alaskans consider “the right size of government”, and options for future sustainable revenue.

Members of the Walker/Mallott transition teams and legislators have been invited to attend the presentations.

Gov. Walker’s Cabinet members will be on hand to answer questions about their departments’ budgets and services, and will be listening to the conversations.

All presentations will be videotaped and posted online.
