Kenai Cleaning Lilac Lane

Residents in the Lilac Lane/Cook Inlet View Drive area of Kenai will have two weeks of free trash removal in the City’s annual cleanup this month…

Mayor Porter: “They’ll have a couple of dumpsters over there and the City will be paying, all the neighbors have to do is if they have things they want to throw away, they can go and put them there, if they have larger items they can call City Hall and arrange for pickups. So it’s a perfect opportunity if you’ve wanted to do some spring cleaning around your place, to take advantage of that on Lilac St.”

Kenai Mayor Pat Porter said every year the city places dumpsters in a particular neighborhood. Last year, it was Kiana Lane and Kaknu Way.

Mayor Porter: “Lots of times people have things stored in their yards that maybe they have forgotten about and it brings it to their attention. A lot of them are tires and old bicycles nobody uses any more and so rather than have them stack up around your house, we give them the opportunity for the City to help them with that.”
