SoHi & Kenai Girls Sweep Soccer Home Stands

The Soldotna Star girls soccer team remains undefeated on the season and in Northern Lights Conference soccer play following a sweep of Colony and Palmer in weekend home contests.  The Kenai girls also record a pair of victories over the Knights and Moose.  The SoHi and Kenai boys both battle to wins over Palmer.

SoHi Girls 5 – Colony 0

The Star girls recoreded a 5-0 shut out of the Colony Knights behind goalie Maddie Kindred.  SoHi opened with three, first half goals for a 3-0 lead at the half.  For the game, Sohi received goals by Abi Tuttle, Whitney Wortham, Makenna Rosin, Miranda Wolfe with two goals.

SoHi improves to 8-0 on the season.

SoHi Boys 0 – Colony 3

The Stars were shut out by the Knights.

SoHi Girls 8 – Palmer 1

The SoHi girls improved to 9-0 on the season with a dominating 8-1 victory over the Palmer Moose.  SoHi goal scorers included: Makenna Rosin, Alyssa Wolfe, Reagon Schoessler, Miranda Wolfe, Abi Tuttle, Taylor Wilson (2), and Brianna Bennett.

SoHi Boys 2 – Palmer 0

The Star boys held Palmer scoreless in a 2-0 victory over the Moose.  Ty Fenton and Bailey Jones each scored goals for SoHi.

Kenai Girls 5 – Palmer 0

Kenai goalie Allie Steinbeck spent a lonely day in goal, facing only two Palmer shots for a 5-0 Kenai shut out victory.  Kardinal goals were scored by Heidi Perkins (2), Lara Crieghton, Hannah Drury and Cori Holmes.

Kenai 4 – Palmer 0

The Kardinal boys held Palmer scoreless in a 4-0 NLC victory for Kenai.  Zach Tuttle scored twice and Austin McKee and Nate Saavedra.  Senior goalie Wren Norwood recorded the shut out for Kenai.

Kenai Girls 2 – Colony 0

Kenai improved to 8-1-1 on the season following a 2-0 victory over Colony to close-out the weekend home stand.  Heidi Perkins scored both Kardinal goals and Allie Steinbeck recorded her second shut out of the weekend.

Kenai Boys 2 – Colony 3

The Kardinal boys battled the reigning state champion Colony Knights throughout a hard-fought contest, which Colony won 3-2.  Kenai received two goals from Zach Tuttle.  Kenai trailed 2-0; then rallied to tie the game at 2-2, before Colony netted the game winner in the final two minutes.

 

The Nikiski Bulldogs hosted Homer and Seward in Northern Lights Conference soocer.

Nikiski Girls 4 – Seward 1

Rachel Thompson scored a pair of goals and Zykiah Cooney and Verity Feltman added single goals in the Bulldogs victory.

Nikiski Boys 3 – Seward 0

The Bulldog boys downed Seward 3-0 on the strength of goals by Javon Pamplin, Rykker Riddall and Hunter Holloway.
