This morning Governor Bill Walker publicly confirmed he has appointed Anchorage resident Robert “Bob” Mumford to the Alaska Board of Fisheries.

Walker wrote via email, “His vast range of experience in multiple fields—as a commercial pilot, hunting instructor and fish and game state trooper—has taken him all over the state.

Chenault said it’s possible they could take up the Governor’s appointment to the Board of Fish this year, though they may leave the vote until the next session…

Speaker Chenault(R-Nikiski): “I’m fine either way. The Governor had until yesterday to appoint a new member. I’ll find out this morning if he met his statutory requirements as far as notifying the House and the Senate on who that is, and then we’ll go from there on whether we take someone up now or if we take that up next session.”

That was at 7am this morning, as Chenault was still waiting to hear if the Governor’s office had disclosed the name of his Fish appointee to the House by Tuesday night’s deadline.
