A lack of offense for the Oilers and a lack of run production for the Alaska Goldpanners equaled a lack of scoring in Sunday’s series finale’ between the Peninsula Oilers and the Panners.

Fairbanks downs the Oilers 2-1 in 10 innings, the Oilers first loss of the season.

The game was tied 1-1 after nine innings; both teams scoring single runs in the third inning.  The Oilers managed five hits and left five on base.  The Panners left 15 runners on base for the game; scoring the game winner in the 10th inning with three hits.

The Oilers open their first road trip on Monday at Mulcahy Park in Anchorage; the first of four games against the Anchorage Bucs.  Monday’s game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start.
