Students will reconvene on Wednesday, August 19 and registration will open across the district next week.
Pegge Erkeneff with the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District…
Erkeneff: “We just posted on our website as well as on our Facebook and Twitter pages, a listing of all the school registration dates and times. So if somebody is new to our school district, wants to register for classes, get their children enrolled, there’s a couple things they need to do and we’ve got those list of dates. And it’s really helpful for the schools that people come in during those dates that are posted by school, and the time frames.”
She said one new tool that may be handy for getting ready for the school year is the district’s mobile app.
Erkeneff: “So they can look at a district calendar, they can subscribe to a specific school, so that anything posted on that school’s website or social media feeds into the app. They can look at the school calendar on their smart phone and transfer events over. It’s really helpful along with getting critical notifications. And then something that’s new is that through the app or through our website, parents can now make payments online with a credit card to their student’s lunch services.”
Principals will reassemble at their schools this week and administrators will have two in-service days next week.
