The third draft of marijuana regulations will be introduced next week when the public comment periods on the first two regulation sets close.
In Monday’s meeting, the Marijuana Control Board discussed the final section of draft regulations which will regulate the marijuana industry in Alaska.
The intent of the proposal was discussed with the drafter along with legal issues of the possible regulations with counsel.
Board Chair Bruce Schlute stated he thinks the board is on schedule to release a “very well considered, well though out set of rules and regulations” for the industry on November 24.
The public comment periods for the first and second draft regulations will close on August 8.
Summaries of those public comment periods are on the agenda to be discussed at the August 10 and 11 meetings where the third set of regulations will be introduced.
