A family pet went missing during the double fatality accident between an RV and a pickup which closed the Kenai Spur Highway yesterday.
Robin Wiesneth was the passenger in the motorhome from Florida and said she and her husband are emotionally distraught over the accident.
On top of that, their family cat Tucker was travelling with them and has not been seen since the accident.
Wiesneth: “He’s about five years old and he’s black with some white markings, he’s a tuxedo. His white markings are around his nose and his mouth and then his chin and a little bit into his chest, kind of tapers into his chest. And then his front paws are white and he’s got some white on his rear paws too.”
Wiesneth said Tucker was riding on her lap when the accident occurred. Firefighters searched the coach but were unable to locate him.
Wiesneth: “Our two choices are he’s somewhere in the coach and we can’t find him or he went through the windshield at the time of impact and somehow made it to the other side of the road in which case he could be okay or he could be injured.”
She added she appreciates the amount of people who have come forward to help find Tucker.
Wiesneth: “In whatever shape he’s in, we still need him.”
Tucker is not wearing a collar but is microchipped.
Wiesneth said if someone finds Tucker, local vets and shelters have been notified and will contact her and her husband.
