The 2015 Alaska State Fair opened today.
Fair Marketing Director Dean Phipps told us about the excitement and variety of this year’s fair.
Phipps: “We have a variety of fair goers, one of my respected mentors from Minnesota State Fair once said that a great fair represents the community from which it belongs, so we don’t expect everyone to like everything that we book but we try to have something that appeals to at least some aspect to fair goers.”
Headliners for this year’s fair concert series includes pop-urban hit-maker Jason Derulo, country superstar Lee Brice, and music festival favorite Portugal. The Man.
Grammy nominated comedian Jim Gaffigan will also be there for one show on September 4.
The Knights of Valour Jousting tournament has also returned for the second year in a row.
