All three central peninsula football programs recorded victories in week five of the high school football season with Soldotna, Kenai and Nikiski each winning divisional contests.
SoHi 42 – Palmer 7
The Soldotna Stars improved to 5-0 on the regular season and extended the program’s current win streak to a state record 34 games with a 42-7 dismantling of the Palmer Moose on Friday.
The SoHi defense created five Palmer turnovers in the first half and turned four into touchdowns. The Stars defense held 2014 Large School leading rusher Chase Ferris to 25 yards on 16 carries through the first three quarters.
SoHi scored on every possession in the first half for a 35-o halftime lead. The Stars touchdowns included: Kristian Palaniuk, 2-yard run; Mason Prior, fumble recovery in endzone; Adrian Gomez-Dickson pass 42-yard reception from Dylan Simons; Dylan Simons, 26-yard run; Mason Prior, 51-yard run; Mason Prior, 34-yard run.

Kenai 67 – Eagle River 0
The Kardinals scored on every possesion in Saturday’s 67-0 domination of Eagle River. The Kardinals improve to 2-0 in the Northern Lights Conference and 3-1 on the season; as Eagle River drops to 0-5 on the season.
The Kardinals offense scored seven rushing touchdowns and the Kenai defense added a pair of touchdowns with a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown by Connor Johnson and an interception return for touchdown by Corbin Streiff. Rushing touchdowns included: Andrew Welborn, 3-yard run; Zack Tuttle, 44-yard run; Welborn, 2-yard run; Chase Gillies, 19-yard run; Nick Beeson, 1-yard run; Draiden McMinn, 1-yard run; Tyrone McEnerney, 3-yard run; and Caleb Streiff, 18-yard run.

Nikiski 34 – Houston 0
The Bulldogs shut-out the Houston Hawks 34-0 in Small School football action on Saturday. Nikiski improves to 4-0 in Small School games and 4-1 on the season. Game details to be updated.
