Homer Electric Association’s annual Energy & Conservation Fair has changed venues and is offering a new feature this year.

Joe Gallagher: “Shred Alaska will be set up in the parking lot of Soldotna High School and they will be providing free shredding services all day long.”

HEA’s Joe Gallagher said the partnership is exciting and will offer local businesses free document and paperwork shredding throughout the day.

The Convention Fair rotates locations every couple years and Gallagher said they are excited for this Saturday, October 3, at Soldotna High School.

Gallagher: “It will start at 10 am and run until 3 pm. We have a wide variety of vendors that will be there, they’re all experts in energy conservation and they’ll be displaying their products and providing information about how to basically conserve energy and at the end of the day save money on your electricity bill. There will be free complimentary food served by the Soldotna High School Girls Basketball Team.”

Gallagher estimated that over 500 people attended the Fair in Kenai last year.
