Kardinal Girls Post Outstanding State Meet Results: Kenai Wins Team Title

The Kenai Kardinal girls cross country running team raced to four, top fifteen finishes at the 2015 ASAA 4A Cross Country Running Championships on Saturday at Bartlett High School. The Kardinal girls earn the overall girls 4A team title, crowned 4A champions for the first time in Kardinal running history.

Riana Boonstra lead the Kardinals with a second-place finish in the girls 4A championship race, only six seconds behind 4A champion Molly Gellert of West Anchorage.

Jaycie Calvert finished fifth overall, Ithica Bergholtz finished sixth, Addison Gibson placed 11th overall and Brooke Satathite placed 53rd for the Kardinals.  The five top scorers account for the team scoring.

4A Boys Champion: Ty Jordan  Chugiak

SoHi finishers: Aaron Swedburg, 8th; Josh Shuler, 63rd

3A Girls Champion: Briahna Gerlach  Glennallen

3A Boys Champion: Kaleb Korta  Galena
