The Kenai Peninsula Borough Healthcare Task Force will take aim at reducing healthcare costs in Wednesday night’s meeting.

Borough Mayor Mike Navarre will present administration recommendations.

Navarre: “I think there’s some gaps that we have here on the Kenai Peninsula. I think that there’s some economies and scale and inefficiencies and as was mentioned in one of the presentations there’s some low hanging fruits that you can get by doing it on a borough-wide basis or combining the service areas.”

Homer Representative Paul Seaton is also scheduled to speak about reducing healthcare costs by improving overall health for Alaskans.

That meeting will begin Wednesday, October 21, at 6:30 pm in the Borough Assembly chambers in Soldotna.
