Homer Electric Association crews responded to reports of a smoldering wire in Soldotna earlier and have de-energized an area to make repairs.
HEA’s Joe Gallagher says the issue was caused by a loose wire that fell on a power pole cross-arm.
Gallagher: “Right now in that area we have 29 meters without power. Our crews are making the repairs and hope to have things completed and restored but it will take approximately 2-3 hours to make those repairs.”
He says at this time it is unclear what caused the wire to come loose.
