Freezing rain and very slick road conditions have been reported between Anchor Point and Homer this afternoon.
KSRM’s Coach Dan Gensel reported passing by three vehicles in the ditch at Mile 165 of the Sterling Highway with Alaska State Troopers on scene.
He says the temperatures around Anchor Point rose from 19 degrees to 36 degrees, causing the road surface to ice over immediately.
Drivers traveling through the area should take caution as vehicles have reportedly slowed to about 10 miles per hour.
