The Marijuana Control Board made a variety of decisions as it reviewed 42 amendments to the proposed commercial regulations today in Anchorage.
Just before noon members voted in support of an amendment that will allow on-site consumption in retail establishments. That approval makes Alaska the first state where legalized marijuana will be permitted to be consumed in sales businesses.
Another decision made today, marijuana will be able to be packaged in such a way that will allow consumers to see the product before purchase.
Board members also voted to remove the cap on THC limits for marijuana concentrates.
And an amendment regarding non-cannabis products allowed to be sold at retail establishments, t-shirts and other merchandise are allowed however edible products such as tobacco cigarettes and food cannot be sold in those businesses.
