The high school wresting regular season closed with the North-South Duals at Soldotna Prep School, with the Colony Knights winning the team title downing Wasilla 52-28..
The Soldotna Stars finished third overall with a final match victory over Homer 46-36. SoHi defeated Grace on Saturday morning, then dropped a set with Wasilla which moved the Stars to the third-place pairing.
Top performances by SoHi, Kenai and Nikiski wrestlers included:
SoHi’s Seth Hutchison and Gideon Hutchison, both went unbeaten, Gideon winning three matches via pins.
Nikiski’s Luke Johnson finished 3-0 for the meet. Nathan Carstens and TJ Cox recorded 3-1 records and Donovan Smith finished 4-1.
Kenai’s Zack Koziczkowski went unbeaten in the 285 division winning all matches by pin and Keyshawn McEnerny finished with a 4-1 record.
Conference wrestling tournaments are on the schedule for Thursday through Saturday, December 10-12.
The 3A Kachemak Conference tournament will be held at Homer High School with the top four in each weight-class advancing to the 1-2-3 State Wrestling Championships.
The 4A Northern Lights Conference tournament will be held at Wasilla High School with the top five in each weight-class advancing to the 4A State Wrestling Championships.
