Intermittent outages for GCI cell phone users were mostly restored by 5 pm Saturday night and completed by 12 noon Sunday.
GCI spokesman David Morris says the cause of the issue is still being determined.
Alaska State Troopers’ Soldotna call center was warned the repairs may impair some cell phone users’ abilities to call 911 but no reports of those sort of problems were received according to one dispatcher.
