ACS Invitational Wrestling Hosts Boys & Girls Tournaments

The ACS Invitational Wrestling Tournaments, with wrestlers representing 52 teams from throughout Alaska, featured both a boys tournament (40 teams) and a girls tournament (52 teams) at Anchorage Christian School.

 

ACS Invitational: Boys 

The Kenai Kardinals scored 78 team points and Nikiski scored 72, finishing behind overall team champion Nome, at 190.5 and Bethel, at 190.0.  Forty boys programs wrestled in the two-day competition.

Top-6 Finishers from Kenai and Nikiski:

130 lbs.  2nd Place – Daniel Steffensen of Kenai Central High School

135 lbs.   2nd Place – Owen Whicker of Kenai Central High School

140 lbs.   5th Place – Reymond Perez of Kenai Central High School

145 lbs.   4th Place – Antonio Perez of Kenai Central High School

152 lbs.   6th Place – Frank St. Denis of Nikiski High School

189 lbs.   4th Place – Tim Goodnight of Nikiski High School

285 lbs.   5th Place – Mayaac Schmit of Nikiski High School

 

ACS Invitational: Girls

The Soldotna girls, Kenai girls and Nikiski girls joined 49 other teams which enter athletes in the ACS Invitational girls tournament.

 

Lathrop and North Pole, both from Fairbanks, finished first and second in the team scoring with 141 and 138 points.  SoHi, with 135 points, place third overall.

114 lbs.   5th Place – Taylor Whittom of Soldotna

126 lbs.   6th Place – Sarai Bravo-Moe of Kenai Central High School

138 lbs.   1st Place – Daisy Hannevold of Soldotna

145 lbs.   1st Place – Trinity Donovan of Soldotna

165 lbs.   2nd Place – Jenna Yeoman of Kenai Central High School

165 lbs.   4th Place – Alyssa McDonald of Soldotna

235 lbs.   5th Place – Destiny Langston of Nikiski High School
