The Alaska Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development (DCCED) announced an updated structure for the second round of the AK-ARPA Business Relief Program. They will extend the deadline to apply to April 30 at 5:00 p.m.
The second round of the AK-ARPA Business Relief Program is being extended with expanded revenue eligibility criteria, according to Tim Dillon with the Kenai Peninsula Economic Development District (KPEDD):
“The big change is you needed to have a 50% or more reduction in Gross Annual Revenue between 2019 and 2020. The change from the initial round to this round two extended deadline is going to change down to 30%. All you have to have experienced is a 30% reduction in Gross Annual Revenue between 2019 and 2020.”
Dillon adds:
“If you met last week’s deadline, Friday’s deadline, you’re in one bucket. They’re going to go through and whomever qualifies qualified. If you have at least 30%, but not quite 50%, what that means is you don’t qualify, they’ll take you and extend you to this new round two extended deadline, and hopefully you’ll be able to qualify under that slight change that they’ve made.”
The DCCED states that if you received funding during the first round of the program, you are not eligible for round two. Applications submitted during the initial phase of round two are still being reviewed and qualifying applications will be processed for payment on the original schedule. Grants will be awarded after all applications have been reviewed and evaluated on demonstrated need. Qualification doesn’t necessarily guarantee grant awards, and proration of final awards may be necessary depending on demand.
Dillon says that the state has tried to put parameters on these types of things so that people really need money, and the right people get it.
