More businesses from Anchorage rather than the Peninsula have signed up to learn about opportunities with the project through the Alaska LNG Project’s business sessions.
The Project’s Information Officer Kim Fox said Anchorage’s session saw around 380 businesses on Monday, Fairbanks will see about 80 businesses today and the Kenai Peninsula has had right around 140 sign up.
Fox: “They were really very good, we had a great turnout, lots of great questions and the session really was about trying to understand a little bit more about each of the businesses and the people who came to start a conversation and a dialogue between the project and the business community so we got a lot of information and started a good conversation.”
A broad cross section of businesses have signed up for the Kenai Peninsula business session which will be held tomorrow, including environmental specialists, fast food restaurants, banks, telecommunication companies, engineering firms and even florists.
Fox: “We are bringing to each of our sessions we have subject matter experts and basically project leadership that are responsible for different parts of the project. At our Kenai Session we will have Mike Ahart participate and he is the construction manager for the liquefaction facility. So he is a great resource to that community because he is building that facility and it’s nice to have that leader participate in our session in Kenai.”
The registration for tomorrow’s business session in Kenai ended April 17.
