The 2022 Iron Dog champions Tyler Aklestad and Nick Olstad lead the field into the 2023 halfway point in Nome, arriving at the Nome checkpoint at 14:49:26 on Monday; Team 7 with nearly a half hour lead halfway through the 2023 Iron Dog.
Fifteen teams have arrived in Nome for a two-day rest, repair layover before heading out for the finish line in Big Lake. Tuesday is Garage Day in Nome allowing for teams to work on their machines on the clock. Tuesday will also include the Nome Halfway Ceremonies & Banquet.
Team #2 Bradley Kishbaugh of Soldotna and Ryan Sottosanti of Wasilla posted a running time of 31:18:38 into the Nome halfway checkpoint, the fourth team into Nome.

Racers will be eligible to return to the trail beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The Iron Dog scheduled finish is set for Saturday, February 25th in Big Lake with the anticipated finish around 12:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
