An Alaska Airlines flight landed safely in Spokane at 8:15 am after passengers reported the cabin filled with smoke.
Flight 2372 from Seattle to Spokane had 75 passengers and four crewmembers on board according to Alaska Airlines spokeswoman Halley Kniggs. She did not immediately reveal any other information.
Passenger Ryan Mitrovich says everyone on the plane exited safely following the emergency landing. He said passengers noticed the smoke in the cabin about 20 minutes before their scheduled arrival into Spokane.
Flight attendants searched the aisles looking for the source of the smoke, according to Mitrovich. Soon after the pilot announced they would be making an emergency landing.
He described the situation as “kind of scary” but says no passengers panicked.
Emergency crews met the aircraft when it landed.
