The Alaska high school football playoffs open the first weekend of October with semi-final and play-in games in three divisions. Playoff positions and seeding were determined following the final weekend of the eight-game regular season.
The Soldotna Stars, Nikiski Bulldogs and Homer Mariners advance to the playoffs; SoHi as the #1 seed from the Northern Lights Conference in Division II football, Nikiski advances as the #2 seed from the Peninsula Conference, and Homer advances as the #1 seed from the Peninsula Conference.
Division II Football Playoffs
The Soldotna Stars, 8-0 on the regular season and 4-0 in the NLC, have won five, straight Medium School Football Championships (now named Division II). SoHi has also won 12 consecutive NLC regular season championships.
The Stars current, consecutive win streak stands at a state record 57 games.
SoHi will face North Pole (#2 in Southeast Conference) in the Division II first round.
Thunder Mountain, (#1 in SEC ) faces Palmer (#2 in NLC ) in the Division II first round.

Division III Football Playoffs
The Nikiski Bulldogs secured a playoff position with a victory in week eight over Seward.
Nikiski battles Barrow in Barrow on Saturday in the Division III first round.
The Homer Mariners finished at 7-1 on the season and 4-0 in Peninsula Conference play.
Homer hosts Eielson on Saturday in Peninsula Conference play.
