Alaska LNG and FERC Enter Scoping Process

On March 4th the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued the notice of intent to prepare an EIS for the Alaska LNG Project.

 

That new step continues the period of the National Environmental Policy Act’s scoping process with FERC and other cooperative agencies gather public input throughout the state.

 

Although that period closes December 4 this year, the commission emphasized that it is not the only public input opportunity.

 

At the same time, Alaska LNG is continuing to study potential sites and routes for the project, prepare draft resource reports, and prepare federal, state, and local permit applications.

 

Public comments may be filed both electronically through FERC’s website  and by mail to:
