The Alaska Ocean Leadership Awards were established by the Sealife Center to recognize significant contributions to improve Alaska’s Oceans.
The nomination period is now open, the Marine Research and the Marine Science Outreach Awards will be awarded at the Alaska Marine Science Symposium on January 19, 2015.
The Walter J. and Ermalee Hickel Lifetime Achievement , Stewardship and Sustainability , and Ocean Youth Awards will be awarded February 21, 2015.
Nominations of scientists, team of scientists, institutions, individuals, and youth are applicable to a variety of those awards.
