Alaska State Troopers Arrest One In Nikiski After Finding Vehicle Running On Side Of Road

A resident of Anchorage and Nome was arrested in Nikiski over the weekend.

 

On Saturday morning after 7:15 a.m., Alaska State Troopers identified a vehicle running on the side of the road at mile marker 19 on the Kenai Spur Highway that appeared to be unoccupied. A subsequent investigation revealed that two people were passed out in the vehicle while it was running.

 

The driver was removed from the vehicle after refusing to cooperate with Troopers. He was arrested for DUI. The driver also provided a false identity and refused to provide a breath sample. The driver was later identified as 31-year-old Dennis Thrasher of Anchorage and Nome.

 

Thrasher had an outstanding arrest warrant for 2nd and 3rd degree assault and 1st degree sex assault. A records check also revealed he had a revoked driver’s license. Thrasher was remanded at Wildwood Pretrial.

 

No information on the passenger at this time.
